Come visit us on 34th Ave!

We’re so excited to announce our upcoming residency at Side B (36-12 34th Ave)! We’re temporarily moving into the space for a couple of months to bring our pop-up vibes to an actual storefront—and to have a space for us to all gather, hold events, meet neighbors, and more.

At the store, we’ll have new and used books, shirts, totes, and gift-y items, alongside merch with new designs and products from local artists. We hope to create a cozy bookstore where you can drop in, get a book, or host an event. We won’t be a coffee shop, but we are continuing to build toward our permanent space with a cafe.

Our soft open will begin on Saturday, March 7 and continue on the 8th, 12th, and 13th. We invite you to come preview the space, chat with us, and do a little shopping! Our grand opening party is Saturday, March 14th, with music, giveaways, and more! Details will be announced soon on our Instagram

some more info

What do you mean by residency?
Think of it as a proof of concept! We’ve loved doing pop-ups but we’d also love the chance to stay put for a while and showcase how much Astoria wants a space like No Borders. This isn’t our permanent location—we’re still working on that—but we’re so excited for the opportunity to start meeting new friends and proving there’s a demand for a used bookstore in Astoria. This is also a scaled down version of what we hope No Borders will be. In the future, we’d love to host bigger events, have more inventory, plenty of seating, and full service drinks.

How long will you be here?
TBD! We plan to be here at least through the end of April, but we'll definitely keep you updated if we extend. Come to the store and bring your friends, especially in our first weeks, if you want us to stay for longer!

How can we work together?
We’d love to host workshops, author talks, release parties, bookish events, meetings, etc. especially on weeknights. Want to collaborate with us? Get in touch and let’s chat! [email protected]

What are your hours?
Thursday & Friday: 3pm to 9pm
Saturday: 10am to 9pm
Sunday: 10am to 7pm

Can we donate books
We are hoping to accept donations very soon, but first we want to clear out some existing stock! So come visit us, get a sense of the types of books we love to have on the shelves, and keep an eye out for when we announce open donations.

What is happening with Side B?
Side B is transitioning into a space to host groups like ours—community groups and super small businesses looking for a space. If you’re looking for the items that used to be sold at Side B, you can shop on their website! If you order an item for pick-up, you can still come pick it up at 36-12 34th Ave. during No Borders hours.

How can we make sure No Borders gets a permanent location after this?
Supporting us during this residency helps us save money to find a bigger, permanent space. Come shop, book an event with us, tell your friends, and donate to our ongoing GoFundMe. And definitely let us know if you see any cool spots in the neighborhood for rent.

Join us for book club

Join us on Sunday March 22nd for our next book club where we’ll be discussing Border and Rule: Global Migration, Capitalism, and the Rise of Racist Nationalism by Harsha Walia.

How to support No Borders

As we continue to fundraise and search for our permanent home in Astoria, No Borders Collective needs your support! To help you can:

  • Follow us on Instagram, where we post updates and events!

  • Donate! We have a GoFundMe, or you can donate by Venmoing us at @nobordersbooks. All proceeds go toward us opening a brick-and-mortar right here in Astoria!

  • Buy physical titles and ebooks via our shop page on Bookshop.org! As an affiliate, we get a small commission from each purchase (and check out our 2026 list for suggestions). If you’re more into audiobooks, you can shop via our page on Libro.FM.

  • Come to a pop-up! Bring your friends, browse our books, purchase merch designed by local queer artists.

  • Collaborate with us! Email us at [email protected] if you want to host us as your market or local business, or if you’re an author/organizer and want to collab on an event.

xoxo No Borders
