Welcome to the No Borders newsletter

Hey friends! As our subscribers increase, we realized it was time to switch to an actual newsletter format. If you’re receiving this, it’s because you either signed up online or at a pop-up. Our hope with this newsletter is to share our events, provide updates on our progress, offer book recommendations, and more. Read on to learn more—and stay tuned because we have news coming soon!

These are some of the books that we're already recommending at pop-ups, the ones we can't wait to put in people's hands. 2026 is going to be a good year for reading. We can feel it. Check our our full list here.

Join us for book club

We will be hosting our next No Borders book club on Sunday March 15, 1pm-3pm. Join us to discuss Border and Rule: Global Migration, Capitalism, and the Rise of Racist Nationalism, by Harsha Walia. Thanks to Haymarket Books, the ebook is available for FREE during the month of February.

How to support No Borders

As we continue to fundraise and search for our permanent home in Astoria, No Borders Collective needs your support! To help you can:

  • Follow us on Instagram, where we post updates and events!

  • Donate! We have a GoFundMe, or you can donate by Venmoing us at @nobordersbooks. All proceeds go toward us opening a brick-and-mortar right here in Astoria!

  • Buy physical titles and ebooks via our shop page on Bookshop.org! As an affiliate, we get a small commission from each purchase (and check out our 2026 list for suggestions). If you’re more into audiobooks, you can shop via our page on Libro.FM.

  • Come to a pop-up! Bring your friends, browse our books, purchase merch designed by local queer artists.

  • Collaborate with us! Email us at [email protected] if you want to host us as your market or local business, or if you’re an author/organizer and want to collab on an event.

Before we go

  • As always, we want to shoutout Astoria Food Pantry—which was integral in bringing our group together—which is currently seeking donations of warm coats, canned goods, and menstrual pads.

  • As the first of the month comes up, we also ask you to consider donating to rent funds in Minnesota as our Midwestern comrades continue to be under occupation by ICE and CBP.

xoxo No Borders
