Come visit us on 34th Ave!

Thank you to everyone who popped by during our soft open—which continues this Thursday and Friday, 3pm to 9pm. We’ve been having such a nice time in our cozy storefront, chatting with new (and old!) friends, and hearing your suggestions for what your ideal used bookstore would look like. Now we’re ready to invite you all to our official Grand Opening on Saturday, March 14th!

We’ll be partying all day, indoors and outdoors, but also have some scheduled activities you can pop in for (more on that below). We’ll have free cookies and handmade patches for the first however many customers until we run out, a raffle with cool prizes, and more!

We’ll be joined by our pals at Astoria Trans Collective, will have free books from The Rolling Library, and will be collecting donations of menstrual pads and reusable bags for Astoria Food Pantry. If you can, we’d love it if you can BYOMask; we’re proud to supply KN95s on site but you can help us cut down costs if you have one already.

GRAND OPENING SCHEDULE:

10:30 AM— Storytime for littles
11:15 AM — Arts & Crafts button-making station
2:00 PM — Teach-in about Worker Cooperatives*
4:00 PM — Tarot Readings by Samira

*accessibility note: the teach-in will be down a flight of stairs, but stay tuned as we'll be scheduling more workshops like this on the ground floor on days the store is closed!

Enter our raffle!

To celebrate our grand opening, we’re hosting a raffle all weekend where you can enter to win a prize pack featuring a No Borders tote bag, exclusive print, signed book, and a gift card to Side B’s online shop. You can enter via cash in-person over the weekend, or you can enter online via our fundraising page.

Join us for book club
