We can’t believe it’s really happening, but we’re a part of Indie Bookstore Day AND Queens Bookstore Crawl this year! The crawl officially runs April 18-26 and Indie Bookstore Day is April 25. Visit on the 25th and catch an exclusive party for toddlers, a pop-up from our friends at Sea & Soil, a visit from Astoria Trash Club, a limited-edition sticker for the first 50 customers, and a hunt for the Libro.fm “Golden Ticket” for 12 free audiobooks - hidden somewhere in the store!

We’ll be hosting plenty of other activities throughout the week, starting Wednesday evening with Astoria Sketch Club. Space is limited to give folks room to draw so RSVP here. Check out details for other upcoming events below!

Our friends at Queens Book Bazaar will be at the store for a pop-up shop from 4-9pm on Thursday! You can get your bookstore crawl passport stamped by two shops in one spot and support two bookstores currently fundraising to find permanent locations in Queens!

We’re open for donations! Help us restock our shelves for Indie Bookstore Day! We are accepting queer books for all ages, books about abolition and other nonfiction that aligns with our values, fiction (especially by authors of color), children’s books in great condition, and books in Spanish or Arabic. Limit of 10 books per person! (More information on what we can take here - If you’re unsure if we’ll take something, please DM or email first). Some excess books will go to our pals at The Rolling Library!

New York’s hottest club is Baby Rave! Bring your little one to No Borders to get their wiggles out before naptime. Join us 10am to 12pm as we throw a dance party for kiddos featuring toddler tunes from DJ Baby Jamz, glow sticks, apple juice, and more! BYOPacifier!

We'll also have coffee for the adults to fuel you for the weekend's Queens Bookstore Crawl. Space is limited so RSVP for a one-hour block of fun! Your donation helps us as we fundraise to get a permanent spot in Astoria where we can host bigger events, have a full-service cafe, and more.

Accessibility notes: There is one step to get into the store. Our bathroom, which is down a flight of stairs, does not have a changing table but we will have an area set up in the basement. We can also park strollers downstairs for all attendees. 

Fellow worker co-op Sea & Soil will be outside the shop selling breakfast and lunch while supplies last! Get something delicious before they sell out :)

Storytime and activities with Sam a local elementary school teacher, from 10:30-11:30am. Bring your little ones by for an interactive reading session.

One of our favorite Astoria artists HISS will be at the shop on Sunday vending and doing pet portraits from 12-4pm. Get a cute piece of art to commemorate your best furry friend! They’ll also be collecting donations on behalf of Wildlife Rehab (old towels, fleece blankets, weewee pads).

Come celebrate the end of the Queens Bookstore Crawl with your fellow book nerds at Diamond Dogs! Mingle with other book lovers and exhausted booksellers alike - and bring your completed passport to get happy hour prices from 8-10pm.

Join us for a free, masks-required yoga class. We are offering this as a space for people in our community to come together to breathe deeply in a room prioritizing collective health.

Join us for a free class, taught by our neighbors at Malikah, to learn how to be an upstander and intervene when witnessing an attack or harassment.
