Come to an event at No Borders!

One of the reasons we’ve been so excited to get a storefront is to start hosting all of the events we’d been dreaming of. We’ve had SO many ideas (and so have our neighbors) so we’re getting to work at making them a reality. We’d love for you to come check out (or even host!) an event at our store—whether it’s an author talk upstairs, a cozy meeting in our basement, or tabling outdoors. Here’s a look at our schedule:

Monday, March 30th at 7pm — AUTHORS IN CONVERSATION

Come see local Astoria author Julie Kliegman (Mind Game) in conversation with Michael Waters (The Other Olympians) as they chat about their books, queerness, sports, and the long arc of gender panic and its impacts on athletes.

Tuesday, March 31st at 5pm — TRANS DAY OF VISIBILITY

Join us for a joyful evening celebrating Trans Day of Visibility! 🏳️‍⚧️ From 5–9pm, we’re gathering in community for a night full of connection, creativity, and care.

Enjoy a raffle, clothing swap, and bake sale; browse a selection of queer books; and take part in fun activities throughout the space. Astoria Trans Collective will also be on hand distributing free trans tape, binders, and other resources.

Come through, bring your friends, and celebrate with the neighborhood’s trans hotties. Allies are welcome. Let’s show up and get to know each other better. 💖

No Borders and The Rolling Library are accepting donations of LGBTQIA+ books during this event!

Tuesday, March 31st at 6:30pmPAINT (BOOKMARKS) & SIP (TEA)

Join us and QNS Collaborative in joyful community to talk books, sip some tea (provided by No Borders) and paint your very own wooden bookmark to take home. This class is perfect for anyone interested in bookish community and dabbling in some creativity.

Guests will leave with:
📖 2 hand-decorated bookmarks of their own design
📚 New book-loving pals

Please note: This is an offsite event at The Collaboratory at 21-07 41st Ave. More information and sliding scale tickets available here.

7:00-7:30am: Open Meditation (optional, arrive at any time)
7:30-8:30am: Hatha Yoga Class
In partnership with Concrete Yoga and Astoria Worker Project

Sunday, April 12th at 3pm — THE ROLLING LIBRARY’S QUEER BOOK CLUB

The Rolling Library’s book club reads queer fiction and nonfiction, and is open to everyone! They usually meet on the first Sunday of every month in Astoria, often outdoors (weather permitting).

This month, they’re reading Necessary Fiction by Eloghosa Osunde and meeting in our store from 3-4pm. You don’t have to finish the book to attend! The event is free with no RSVP needed, but if you’d like info on future meetings, you can join their mailing list or follow their Instagram.

Please note: This meeting takes place in the basement area, down a flight of stairs.

Saturday, April 18th at 1pm — NO BORDERS BOOK CLUB

This month, our book club is reading Love in a F*cked-Up World How to Build Relationships, Hook Up, and Raise Hell Together by Dean Spade! There will be silent reading from 11-1, and then a discussion from 1-3pm. You can sign up for more info here.

Please note: This meeting takes place in the basement area, down a flight of stairs.
